Reasons Your Sink is Draining Slowly

Is you bathroom sink draining slowly? Slow draining sinks are a frustrating, but common household plumbing problem. Here are a few of the reasons behind why your sink drain might be giving you a problem.

Possible Causes:

  • Deterioration – Old pipes can deteriorate from within. This may cause your sink to drain less efficiently.
  • Partial Clog – Hair from brushing, shaving, or beard-trimming can become matted in your drain pipes. This will prevent the water from passing through and cause your sink to drain slowly.
  • Stuck Objects – Toys, jewelry, and other small objects can get stuck in your drain pipes. The small objects can get stuck in the drain and block the pipe.
  • Tree Roots – Tree roots around your home seek nutrients and water. If they find a crack in your main drain line, they can get inside the pipes and slow down or block your plumbing system.

If you notice that your sink is draining slowly, contact bluefrog Plumbing + Drain. Our technicians can determine the reason behind your slow draining sink and help you correct all of your home plumbing problems. Call us today to contact bluefrog Plumbing + Drain today!
